Post Insurance Diary

It's renewal time, and seeing as I am now 11 points - it's gonna be painful

Currently with Direct Line, they have just quoted me £964.95 for a UK MY00 Turbo. I'm 32, currently have a claim going through to claim back on someones insurance, and the convictions consist of - 1x SP50, 1xSP60 & 1xAC20 which is what the current claim is for (£150 damage).

DL's quote included Hire Car, Protected no claims (I will have 8yrs) and an excess of £950!!!

The search continues - currently waiting of Subaru Insured to call me back...

Phoned Subaru Insured again to be told that their phone system is getting swapped over so no quotes can be done at present.

Then Phoned LV - was quoted £743, they weren't bothered about convictions which was brilliant but as soon as I mentioned I had a non-standard backbox they said they couldn't insure me!! WTF - totally gutted.

Gotta get it sorted quick - runs out at 12 noon tomorrow.

Adrian Flux said they couldn't beat Direct Line's Price.

Just did an online quote on Privilege's site and found out it was £60 to have the missus as a named driver, unfortunatly the quote £660 "only" has 2 of my convictions...

I was in a similar position a few years ago (11 points) and norwich union direct were about the only company that would cover me for a decent price with all my convictions.. they were about 1/2 of what everyone else wanted. Had to trade down to a group 7 focus though

Have stuck with DL - £7 isn't enough to get out of chasing up paperwork to send...
