Insurance Subaru Impreza insurance can be expensive, as with any performance car insurance. But the cheapest car insurance isn't always the best. Share your quotes, and experiences.

If any one is concerned over the insurance aspects of getting cover on a PPP specced Impreza be it WRX or STi, by and large it is horrendous.
Please read these posts.

The chap concerned is being prosecuted for driving a car with an 'Illegal Exhaust'.
Its a WRX with PPP kit fitted.
Currently Subaru are offering to pay his fine of £30.

I suggest it might be worth keeping a close eye on this, or even ask your dealer, if you are thinking of buying in the near future, What is going on? Will my car be illegal? (get it in writing).

Cheers

I live in Northampton, and have fitted an afterburner exhaust - I have driven past countless police on foot and they haven't even raised an eyebrow. The afterburner is louder than the PPP backbox.

As for insurance - unless you happen to get a numpty advisor on the line, Direct Line recognise the PPP as a kit and quoted me an extra £171 for the year if I purchased it. (My standard premium is about £700, with an extra £50 ish for the afterburner).

It seems that after a month of worry, most insurers now recognise the WRX300 and quote it as such, rather than a modded WRX.

Wahey!
