Default Bloody hell, my car is an STI

Just thought I'd try elephant to see what the crack was with these dodgy quotes, I put my reg in and it seems that my WRX300 is in fact a WRX STI type uk.

Bonus, wish somebody had told the dealer before I picked it up. I wonder if they will admit their error! lol

It would be fairly obvious if your car was an STI. It would be badged as such and have various pink bits on it

Wink

Any thoughts on the new motor? Pick ours up on Saturday (hopefully), and it's like being locked outside the sweetie shop until breaktime... you know it's coming but just can't wait!

Not to mention having "STI" painted/slitched/engraved/glued/bolted etc onto nearly every surface of the car somewhere.

WRX300 is a special edition of the 2005 WRX. Has various goodies (cant remember what). Limited run of 300. so not 300 bhp.

I had a black Civic Type R with private plate that always came back as a 5 door ford focus lol. V5 was correct but the RAC Vehicle check website and insurance companies always had it wrong for some reason.

We transferred a plate but had no problem. The Trackstar certificate has come with the wrong reg no on it though!

We have had this plate for 15 years and we had it on a Metro Gti 16V 10 years back, which was written off by joyriders. When I came to trade in the next car 3 years later I was offered half the market value as DVLA hadn't bothered to do their bit properly!

It gets worse - apparently my WRX300 is officially a WRX turbo on the logbook. So much for the "coveted special edition"

I have had this problem on a few occassions - especially with my current wrx 04 which is apparently an sti type uk!

These places just wont insure the car - they say I should tell the DVLA as its a mistake on the DVLA central database and not their responsibility - and in effect they were saying they did not believe me

Elephant are a waste of time - got a good quote last year - but they heavily load for points - wife had 3 points sp50 so I told them - annualised quote went up £300.... so I said that was ridiculous so they cancelled the policy that minute! as was not going to pay the extra!
