What's going on here???

MY02 STI PPP - 38YO, Cheshire Postcode

Liverpool Victoria last year £804, came through this year at £946. Ouch I thought!

Whilst waiting for the A-Plan offices to open, I phoned Privilege for a quote.

After about 20 minutes, I went through all the information, mentioned at least 15 times that the car had a Prodrive Performance Pack, 15% Power + Exhaust.
Specifically asked for the policy to contain the words "Prodrive Performance Pack", and also asked several times for the Stetement of facts to contain "Prodrive performance pack"
All fine said the very nice man from Privilege, I waited whilst he typed the words in.

Asked for a high excess of £750, because I prefer it that way

The price came through at £520!!!!!!! WOW! Took it there and then, and didn't bother to phone A-Plan.

I'm interested to see what the policy says now.
I suspect that something has changed in the insurance industry re PPPs on cars.
Certainly Privilege no longer classify their P/Drive STI as just a 2002 model,
which they used to.

just make sure the docs have the PPP on them - if not write them a letter - they're quite well known for not quoting accurately on the exact car details...

I've had these problems with Priviledge.

They class all 2002 onwards Sti PPP cars as Prodrive Style cars which in their eyes means it has a body kit add on which Prodrive supplied and was only available on the 2002 Impreza. I wrote them a letter asking them to provide me with written proof that my 2005 Sti ppp was correctly insured ie. it was marked down as 'Prodrive performance pack' in their modifications section on their insurance document which they supply to you.

They had marked the car down as '2005 Impreza Sti P/Drive style'. Anyway, aparently according to Priviledge's reply letter, the P/Drive style does indicate the PPP engine power upgrade of 15%.
