Insurance and paring in Garage overnight

Just received my new insurance documents.
In the questions I stated the car would be parked in the garage overnight.
There is a restriction on the documents saying that the car will not be covered for theft within a one mile radius of my house from dawn until dusk, unless it is parked in the garage.![EEK!](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/eek.gif)
Whilst I make every endeavour to park in the garage, there is the odd occation when I cannot. I phoned to get it changed, only cost another £36.![Whatever Anim](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/Whatever_anim.gif)
It would be worth having a good look at your policy documents.

It'd be a bit ****ty for you to go out to your car at 6pm during the winter, find that it has been nicked and then not covered
Which insurance company is this BTW

It is worth listening to what your broker asks when enquiring on insurance for performance cars and as Jen says, reading the documentation.
Back in the 80's when Cosworths were the bees knees and were being stolen left right and centre, i had several quotes (stratospheric!) where specific alarms had to be fitted to provide cover (at a cost of around £500 back then!!) and also one insurance company which would only provide cover if the car was garaged overnight.
The car wouldn't be covered overnight if i used it on holiday for example cause it wouldn't be garaged plus i wouldn't have been able to use it to get to work when on nightshift....
When thefts were at their peak, the worst example of trying to get cover was when an insurance company asked for the car to be garaged *when not in use!* WTF!!
Needless to say, i looked elsewhere...
