Red face

It's gonna hurt

I would guess you should get it down to around £2-2.5k region, but probably not much lower due to your age. But without phonning a few places you will not know for sure.

Shop around like mad, or buy something cheap to insure like a Toyota Supra Twin Turbo (honestly wold cost me less to insure than a scooby, despite it having an extra 100 bhp!!!)

I've just turned 22 and got a MY98 with alloys and exhaust as extras, my insurance is £1600. Thats with 4 years NCB, garaged and alarmed.

Ceezir,

Good on you for pursuing your insurance quest on a Scooby. I'm glad you didn't take polarbearit's advice on a Supra. They may have a 100bhp more but, they handle like a tea trolley on a skating rink, especially in the wet!!!

Hi all,

I was 22 when I took out my quote (now 23) 96 uk turbo, original quote was £960 with Privilege, 4 yr NCB 5 yrs driving.

I've added a Magnex exhaust system, 17" gold Mim's, WRC spoiler etc and now paying just under £1200. I think thats f***ing good and probably to do with the post code.

Needed a tracker and alarm or immob. though.

Ceezir, just another point, you will need a shed load of money to run one of these so make sure your job is secure and it pays bloody well! They are very reliable but need to be serviced regularly and drink petrol like you won't believe. You then obviously have to modify the hell of of them...
