Has anyone aged 38 or under managed to insure a newish Scoob Turbo for less than £500?
My renewal from Privilege is 507 and after a fair bit of phoning round no one else has come close.
Any ideas?

It really comes down to postcode area, for KW1 last year I was quoted < £600 for 23 year old with full no claims on a new MY00. Having moved to G21 it trebled , am currently basing house purchase on insurance quotes, strange but true.

BTW the above was with Direct Line

I think you'll find that £500.00 for the new Scoob is one hell of a good price...considering the insurance market at present...I would personally snap their hands off and take it

Thumbs up

Try Tesco's,
They are the same company as Privilege/Direct line, but tend to be cheaper.

I agree with Rum totally...
I'd be more than happy paying £500 for insurance on a scoob
Go for it!

Pete T.

Although not under 38 (yet)...35 at the mo,
We insure our MY99 through AXA direct.
Postcode is Yo13 and our last insurance
premium was £458.67.
Due for renewal in July, so will post when
the new quote arrives - should be interesting.

Cheers

Chris.

P.S. we also got £20 M&S vouchers with that quote..........

Thanks for the replies fellas, I've done a bit more phoning round since I posted (there's a limit to how many times I can be bothered to explain what a Scoobysport backbox is to some dizzy girl who doesn't know one end of a car from another !) and I haven't found a quote anywhere near (Greenlight were closest).
I'll try Tescos and then accept the Privilege quote (well you've got to try haven't you).
BTW the excess on the Privilege quote is 600 quid

Already tried 'em Glen, they wanted 580 ish.
You must live on a remote Hebridean Island to get a quote that good. I'm in the Lake District which I thought was one of the cheapest areas.

Does anyone have a list of good/bad postcodes. Surely such information can't be classified as top secret.

Rum, can you help? Or if you tell, will you have to kill us

Ozzy, I phoned Direct LIne and asked for such a list, and was told that your postcode does not make a difference this just after they trippled my premium for moving house

If you want to check out a postcode what I do is got to the

Robertio,

already tried with post code of the next area; ML2 I think. Even though the code is only literally a mile down the road, it put the premium up by about £200 quid.

So much for the code not mattering.

RUM, is the post code areas available?

Slim

Only 36 but my wife is 40

If I went & put PPP & Quickshift on PTMW! it would only add £40 to the premium

Got to say also, I've 9 pts declared as well

Greetings Scooby-ists!

I'm getting pretty hacked off, now...

I'm on the brink of purchasing a MY01 WRX and naturally, am shopping round for In-sewer-ants.

So far, the cheapest fully-comp quote for me (32) and my g/f (31) is £1100! that was from Direct Line, of all people.

The most ludicrous one so far has been £3100 through Sabre. Bunch of jokers, or what?

For the record, I've got one piddling SP30 (3 points, no fine) and one minor fault claim (from three years ago).

I'm a company-car driver looking to opt out and despite being able to afford the new wheels, looks like all I can afford to (sensibly) insure is a 1.1 Fiesta.

Christ, even my bike insurance ain't this stupid.

Wik.
