Default Do I need to tell the insurance company

If I am not claiming anything for a break in other than a glass claim? My policy schedule doesn't mention things like this... I don't want to claim on insurance but what happens if they find out?

If you had your window smashed and all you are doing is replacing the window, tell the insurance company about it, and make sure you let them know that you are paying for the repair out of your own pocket so in fact are not claiming.

Or having said that, if you put exactly the same glass in the window how are they going to ever know?

insurance states that a glass claim does not affect no claims bonus.. what I was concerned about is the fact the police report obviously states that items have been stolen such as stereo etc..

when I was with Greenlight a few years back they never even asked to see any police report. They just sent someone round 24 hrs later, stuck the glass in took a cheque for my excess (50.00 IIRC) and they said they send the paperwork back to the brokers confirming the repair.

never did affect the no claims although my premium did increase the following year. They said it had nothing to do with the claim but i wasn't sure. That was the first time in 12 years of driving that I'd seen an increase!!
