Me and my dad share a car. Its in his name and i am a named driver
he has 4 years no claims
i have none but have been driving over 3 years. i am 21 he is 51.
The Car a 1999 wrx saloon jap import.
The quote 2500 on a 10 months accelator
is this expensive any ideas how to get it cheaper thanks

I am pretty sure that most companies base their policy on the younger driver.
The only way to get the premium down for you dad would be for you to not be a named driver and go buy yourself something cheaper to run.
I dare say you will find a cheaper quote somewhere though, I just dont think it will be dirt cheap, good luck.

imports have loaded premiums anyway.. i paid just over a grand for a UK MY00 classic, i'm 23 with 2yrs no claims.
Also, it may be fun driving the car, but if you had your own insurance then the 3yrs you have been driving would equal 3yrs NCB... big savings compared to 0.. which is what alot of companies will see you as having!
£2500 for 10months is harsh, is this with elephant\admiral? Thats who i'm with, they seem good for UK model cars at least..
