Insurance without the tracker
Ive been getting a few quote's for my 01 WRX online and both Privilage and Direct Line both say they will insure my car without the tracker activated but it will not be covered for theft. How dodgy is that!! Has anyone ever gone down this route before? Surely that is a massive gamble??

Had to do this when I got my first Scooby a few weeks ago. Basically its a condition of the insurance for the tracker to be activated to be covered for theft, and its a chance you take i guess. Got my tracker fitted the day after I picked it up but hardly took my eyes off the car until it was fitted and registered! Incidentally, getting the Tracker registered was a nighmare. It was very difficult to get through to customer services and then they got the details wrong.. Has anyone else had problems with Tracker? Given the option again I'd go for a company that doesn't need a tracker for insurance to save the hassle, plus I wonder how effective they really would be given police resources and priorities.

My tracker will not be activated. Its not worth the money every year. I went to Keith Michaels who gave a good quote but then I tried A Plan who quoted me £569. I was pretty pleased with that as I have 6 points. I'd advise anyone to give them a go.

Ive heard this quite a lot, im not sure why but my previous scoob had to have a tracker fitted to even get insurance even tho it was cheaper & less desirable than my current one, which inciedntally they did'nt even ask if it has one fitted. (same company)
