Question

Has anyone had a quote for the STi yet both Euro sourced and type UK also the Prodrive version?
Also as it will not be a grey import, am I right in thinking that it will be group 17 and not rip off 20 like my last Scoob was!

cheers ian

Highly unlikely considering that my MY01 UK WRX is grp 19. Insurance jumped by 2 grps from the turbo to the new wrx. Check out the directline website, it quoted me £1100 for the UK sti against £770 for the wrx

Direct lineI quoted me £1118.25 on a STi at 3 different values £23500, £25995 and £27495, I would like to know how they worked that out! As I thought that it was dependant on value as well as grouping.

So much for insurance getting cheaper once you hit 30

I think DL have a threshold at around £30K when things get rapidly more expensive. When they quoted for my next scoob they weren't really interested in the dealer mods as long as it didn't break through this barrier (NB despite this I will still send them a copy of the dealer's order form with all the mods itemised).

They have always been the cheapest for my MY99 despite one claim last year. Quote for the MY01 wasn't outrageous but they do now require a tracker, which effectively pushes up the cost by around £300/year over three years.

I am in negotiations with various insurers....with a meeting tomorrow with the one that is most favourable

The idea is to get a) superb rates b) excellent cover c) Subaru Approval & d) anything else (?!)

Watch this space...

P.S. Talks with Subaru last week went well and all being well we will have some sort of STI scheme up and running prior to Xmas!!

Sorry to say Rum, but from my own experiance of obtaining a quote from your company in the past. I dont think it will be very competative for myself, even though I have Full NCD etc.

Cool

STi rates now confirmed...so far the quotes that we have done have been a bit more competitive than the likes of Tesco...

For the customers that we have quoted, I am confident that we will be issuing the appropriate covernotes just prior to collection of the vehicles...

Ian, if you want a quote - you know where I am ....(mind you knowing my luck I'll be laughing on the other side of my face when I find I can't compete with your best deal)

All the best

Anyone else had any quotes/info on insuring a type UK STI?

Rum are you still unable to quote for NI?

Andy (quickly running out of reasons not to trade in for one)
