I have just started looking for quotes for my 14th Feb renewal!
5 door Turbo 1996 standard Cat 1 immobiliser and alarm.. (wondering about a tracker)
Both myself and wife to drive...
Have access to two other vehicles on a daily basis...
about 10000miles a year..
I am 28 in April, wife is 27 this month..
3 years no claims... one fault claim on 19th Dec 2000 and a CD10 with 6 points and £200 related to and same date as fault claim.
Car on driveway.. would give address but I don't think that is wise but it is a fairly low risk area out in the sticks..
AA online - £1210
Elephant.co.uk - £983 lowest so far...
Scofields - Have filled in a form on their website.. waiting
Anyone know any other online quotes I could try (I hate telephones...)

Yes, as Priviledge have told me I need pro-active tracker.(Good quote, 'tho.).
Try:
www.ractrackstar.com and
www.navtrack.co.uk.
I liked the £23.50 monthly payment at rac.
Erik.
PS Can someone tell me how to make these links "active" please.

Dunno how to make them active...sorry...
£23 a month seems reasonable but basically increasing my insurance costs by 300 a year for the next 3 years...
so if I can get insurance 300 cheaper with a tracker than without then it seems worth it..
I don't park anywhere of high risk... work has 24hours security and I live in the sticks... although you never know..
piece of mind I guess..

to make a link active you need to add [ url ] at the start and [ /url ] at the end but leaving out the spaces....eg.
[ url ] www.google.com [ /url ] (with no spaces works out to![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
www.google.com
Hope that helps
Cheers
Neil.

The RAC Trackstar Interest free deal is indeed well worth considering...however be aware that you are entering into a 36 month contract...and if like certain members of the BBS (not mentioning your name....but looking at myself
) you are likely to change you car again before the 36 months is up....you WILL still be liable for the balance of the monthly amounts...
...just worth considering...
If you are going to keep the vehicle for 1 or 2 years...then buy the hardware and pay the monitoring fee monthly or annually...
Cheers

With RAC you buy the hardware and then pay the subscription, either quarterly, annually or for the duration of ownership.
It all depends on how long you keep the car on which subscription you go for.
The system can get moved between cars but the subscription is fixed to the vehicle.
Talk to them, I found them extremely helpful and quite talkative.
I was looking at the various systems for peace of mind rather than insurance and fancied the system that could locate my car to within 15 feet (now the American military just declassified a whole new bunch of GPS frequencies).

Count your self lucky that you don't live in Leeds 6 mate!
PC30 in 12/97
SP60 in 06/00
garaged
6 years no claims
I had quotes for a 2001 WRX 5 door going up to £5900!!!!
went round all the online quotes and the cheapest for me was £1269.
I know you don't like phones, but the next best was from Cheam Insurance, who i used to be with for the last five years with different motors. Tel: 02087701001
Good luck!
