Insurance
Insured with A-Plan.
Changed my standard back box for a TSL Group N recently.
I'm assuming this counts as a modification?
When informing the insurance company do I regard it as a performance exhaust or just a aftermarket one?
Should I expect a large rise?

It depends on who is underwriting the policy. Norwich Union chared loads more when I changed to a Prodrive backbox. My A-Plan insurer only charged an admin fee after a decat and remap.
Unsure whether it would be classed as a performance mod as you're only getting 2-3 bhp more. I only changed the backbox for noise/cosmetic reasons.

hi it does. A TSL group N back box is my only mod after starting a policy with A plan. the poicy is with Marker study and I did need to pay something to get the mod added to the policy, can't remeber how much it was£20-30 i think..
Everytime they make any change to your policy it seem to cost so it seems better to make a number of mods at once!

No increase for me - As the backbox offers minimal performance gain they have no problem with it.
I'd have to cover the cost of replacement if damaged/stolen (who steals exhausts....??) but it only cost me £70 so who cares
