Courtesy car insurance?

Courtesy car insurance?
My car is going in for warranty repairs to the suspension and gearbox on Monday and the dealership need it for a week. I just called A-Plan to let them know I need insurance and they apparently say they need to add it as an additional car thereby incurring additional cost.
I suggested they just switched the insurance from my car to the courtesy car but they said that would leave my car uninsured. I said surely it would be insured by the dealership whilst in their care. They gave me a load of old waffle about what would happen if it fell of the ramp. I said it would be covered by the dealer's insurance and the guy at A-Plan said it wouldn't!!
What's the best way to go about this?

A Plan are well within their right to charge for the courtesy car, as will pretty much all insurers.
ps....ref your car being insured whilt in the dealers, we had a client who took his M Coupe for a service. Whilst there it was set fire to (overnight), and the garage got out of paying via their insurance as they said a one-brick high 'wall' was ample security, the the guy had to claim off his own insurance.

Thanks for the reply.
I was surprised because when my Dad's M3 goes in and he gets a courtesy car, he also has to provide his own insurance but it comes as part of his standard policy, therefore no additional cost.
The dealership assured me I'd have to get my own insurance especially as I'm under 25 (24).

TBH a £25(ish) charge to have both cars insured is probably worth it, especially for the piece of mind of knowing you are fully covered.

OK, thanks for your help. As my only experience of a courtesy car was my Dad's I assumed I would not be charged either. At least I now know that it is fair so no problem.
