Default Impreza insurance, All nays and no yays

Didnt want this to be my 1st post but it is as this is bothering me now.

Im 28/29 in September, No NCB, named driver for a year but now have my own policy/registered keeper on my MKV Golf 05 plate. Now im looking for my 1st Subaru as 2nd car but im getting silly quotes of £2k TPFT! surely im not being unrealistic thinking it should be cheaper?

At my wits end at the moment, tried 20+ insurance places (confused etc counted as 1) but no joy. Was really looking forward to owning my 1st Subaru, wanted an RB5 really which is group 17 but still no freindly prices.

Any advice please, Im seeing some super nice Subarus getting sold on here and i really would like one of them but insurance

Thanks

i think one of the reasons it so high is your insurance history. most insurance companies like to insure drivers which have had a few years driving history IE driving gti etc before scoobys. you Will be Lucky to get insured for Les than £1500.

Yeah, im not expecting miracles and to be fair i was expecting £1500ish but even thats not possible and i dont see why.

doing -3000 miles a year, 2nd car as im keeping my daily driver, Age i would consider respectable (turning 29), security, willing to put down an excess, no claims or convics etc

I've heard younger / more risk drivers getting decent quotes, granted most are probably BS but there must be some.

SE postcode, I have Private residential parking (But can garage on family property), ive got good cctv linked up so i can see. I'm trying to get a tailored made quote? that might take some of these things into account and bring the quote down a bit, but i dont know if any insurers do this?

Is it worth contacting Keith Michaels / Gary Moulson do you think?
