Hi All,
I am seriously considering the installation of a tracker once I get my dream purchase of a '99 5dr Turbo, to try and reduce the insurance costs. I haven't a clue how much they cost to install and what the yearly subscriptions are. What are the best/worst makes ?
Many Thanks

If you are planning on keeping the car for 3 years then the RAC Trackstar deal is well worth looking at....
http://www.ractrackstar.com/
£78.00 deposit - then 36 monthly payments of £23.50....certainly saves on paying out one lump sum up front for the hardware and the fitting...
Other insurer friendly Tracking systems per the attached links...![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
http://www.tracker-network.co.uk/ - Tracker - I would suggest a GPS based system like the Horizon unit if funds permit for long term insurance friendly tracking
http://www.navtrak.co.uk/ - Nav Trak - As above...funds permitting the "proactive" unit would be the best buy long term
I have Nav-Trak Proactive fitted to the UK300. The P1 and STI have RAC Trackstar 24 Hour Guardian fitted as standard....and my old MY98 PPP had Tracker fitted...
Hope this helps.

P.S. All the usual disclaimers apply...I have nothing to do with any of the above firms....I do not get financially rewarded if you purchase one of their products....ect etc etc...just one satisfied customer of all of the above at some time or other![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Hi,
My tracker was fitted to my UKMY99 as standard. Not sure but some UK scoobs cane with 3yrs free Tracker
Only to the first owner
but as I bought it second hand had to pay £150 to change name, change battery and check it still works .
One year on and got a bill to renew it's subscription of £99.00 so I'd say monthly's the way to go.
Question -: What would the next owner of your car do?? take over where you left off or go to the yearly subs as I did ?? Worth asking as could be a selling point some time later![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

I have a NavTrak Proactive fitted to the blackbeast. top bit of kit. did have a thing against trackers, but would not be without one now, even if just for peace of mind.

Tracker monitor does well 4 me, had a few phonecalls when the car moved (when it was locked and i was leaning on it talking to a bird!). Peace of mind is great. Not so bothered leaving it in middle of Liverpool - except 4 scratches!).
