Red face

After weeks of trying to convince my son, Chris to cancel his order for a Focus RS and get the new STi-UK he actually got an on-line insurance quote from Greenlight (who I am insured through at a good rate) and POW! £3338 and 8 pence!!
Chris is 26, has a full NCD, no convictions and has experience of performance cars (Sapphire Cossie 4x4 300bhp) Annoying thing also is that he was quoted around £1300 for an EVO VI Makinen by the same company 6 months ago!
HELP ME GUYS!! I`ve almost convinced him and this happens!

yep, try the usual suspects in the insurance forum -

Rum
Tescos/Direct Line etc
Greenlight (phone them!)
Bell Direct (phone them, web quotes are random)

Have to agree about the on-line quotes.
I got a quote of near £2K from an on-line company when renewing on 01 WRX but my original company had renewal of £1100 even after paying out £18K on a claim.

Barclays (=Privilege=DirectLine) 0870 600 1414 - second cheapest but far and away the best level of cover, and know the cars too.
