Hi folks,
Sold my E39 530i Sport - chap is picking it up tomorrow after leaving a deposit on Friday.
Now, I am 34 - clean licence, HGV driver, licence sice 1991 etc and the BMW was insured with Direct Line. I phoned them for a quote to change to either a 2000MY UK Impreza, or a 1999 STi v5. They refused to quote as I have only been with them 11 months.
They say their policy with Impreza's is they require 2 years NCB - so couldn't quote me until I earned this. (I had no NCB before taking out the BMW Policy due to me being covered on a block insurance policy when I was self employed as a Taxi Driver)
He added however that I may be eligable for 2 Years NCB as I was a new customer at the time I took out the BMW policy and I could gain 2 years NCB as part of their introductery offer.
So my question to the insurance based guys is - do I have any option but to be Impreza-less until my renewal is up?
Would short term insurance be feasable for the 6 weeks or so?
Cheers
Charlie
