After being a Brooklands (Smart's tenth birthday party event) this weekend I thought I'd try the SMART insurance for quote, spoke to the guy on he stand and asked if they insured a modded roadster, yes he said ring up next week to get a quote.


rang today, went through the spec...

Lambo doors
stainless steal exhaust
colour coded frnt/rear bumper sections
light tints to side glass
washable SW panel air filter
17" alloys.



He took all my details, went off to get a quote.

came back and said he can't give me a price as the company that under writes the insuarnce said that the cars to heavily modded to get a price from them!!! ??? !!! ???
he said the lamdo doors are an issue!!!!!

Do these people know anything about cars and the extras you can get for them????

it's hardly a speed machine is it being driven by a 17 year old!!!
Make me think that people don't declare the mods on their car when they say their 21 with insurance on an import with mods!!! yah rite!

But these people insure kids with performance cars costing £3k a year.. then they write them off cus they can't handle the power.
