How come they just quoted me £943 on-line then?

Same as you 29 years old, no claims etc - MY99 turbo?

Postcode maybe?

MasterDrive gives me a 10% discount.
I've been with them for 6 years.
Adding the wife reduces the premium.

Luck??

Put my wife on also - like you say that always reduces premium.

Cant beleive the postcode is going to make a £300 difference?

Unhappy

Coogie,

I wouldn't be surprised if the post code does make that big a difference. I've used the post code of my parents house on some online quotes for comparison and it's came out over £150 more expensive in the past. That's just less than 2 miles in the next area.

So I can check I'm comparing like with like, are these quotes asking for a tracker to be fitted? What about protected no claims? Excess? I've been quoted £928 through a broker using AXA, European import MY2002, no tracker required, car in driveway in rural area, age 35. No penalty points (husband has 3). Full no claims bonus - any better ideas - I really don't want to have to fit a tracker...! Car due in a couple of weeks (I hope), so am now looking for best quotes.

Daphne,

The quote of £657 includes full protected NCD.

No tracker required on the policy, but given the recent news it is highly recommended. I've been with Privilege for a while now and they may insist on a tracker for new policies.

Thanks I'll give them a try, but I had heard that Privilege ask for trackers with new policies. I think it will be best for me to shop around a bit for quotes whilst I'm waiting!

With Direct Line on current car, so Privilege (as they're the same company) transferred me through to them for Scooby quote - £590!! Fully comp, protected NCD!! They did ask me to fit a tracker though, but at that price I think I probably will. Still haven't asked them whether premium will change with HID headlights fitted though...! Will wait til the car's nearly here!

I have been with privelege for years and they told me that I needed a tracker if I wanted to insure my scooby turbo!!!! They quoted me £700 but had to have a tracker!!! I went with coversure, I am 26yrs & hubby 31 with SP30, full no claims, leagal and PNC as well, all in for £650 and not tracker required!!!

Privelege were adament tha they wouldn't insure me without a tracker even though I'd been with them for years
