Hi all.....just for your info....had my renewal from NFU It was £530 last year, they now want £609...errr dont think so.....phoned up NFU to say I wasnt overly impressed with their renewal figure and the dippit on the other end said that they could not shift on the price at all and then said 'Lots of people have been moving from us'.....Errrr ever wondered why?

Tried Tesco online - £575 - so bit cheaper.....

Anyhow, after reading the posts on here I phoned Chris Knott, who have just phoned back to say they reckon they can beat most quotes on UK impreza's and their quote was £527 - hehehehe! less than last year

So now insured with Wren, organised through Chris Knott (0800 917 2274).

N.B - They ONLY insure totally standard UK cars. They will not entertain ANY mods.

Std Impreza Turbo 5Dr 99MY, me 32, wife 30, full protected NCB, driveway, Trackstar 24Hr, cuddly toy......

Just so you know......one happy customer

Chris Knott by far the cheapest on a MY02 WRX 5 door. Usual security, aged 39 plus wife. £590 including protected NCD.

Bioforger,

My RB5 didn't require a Tracker, just a Cat1 Alarm/Immobiliser when Chris Knott quoted me today.

No...although mine has one (Trackstar) they seemed surprised when I mentioned it!!

As long as it had a Cat1 that's was all they were bothered about.

Just called them for a WRX 2002 (new to me next month) and they are quoting £540 for me (35) 5 years NCD protected, plus the other-half (33) no tracker (not required with the CAT 1 factory fit), £250 compulsory excess, no voluntary excess living in the RH post code area.

Well impressed with these guys, this is the cheapest quote I've had and even beats Tesco at £570 with £400 excess and no other half or legal cover.

Well happy!

Chris Knott (underwiter is Wren) gets my recommendation also. Age 25, 3yrs NCB, London postcode (N10 - not friendly!), Business Use, one SP30, std UK Turbo MY99, Cat 1, Tracker, £1400.

Still expensive I know, but significantly better than anyone else for my age group/postcode. Insurance is a total lottery, over 90% of the quotes I've recieved have been in excess of £3000!!

First of all thanks to whoever first put Chris knott and the phone number on the BB.

Tescos renewel was £760 - up over £100 on last yr, err don't think so.
Budget wanted over £1000 - 'do you want to go ahead with the cover sir?' laughed out loud (couldn't help it) before saying good bye.
Chris Knott (Wren) £622 all in, protected no claims. That will do nicely.

96 UK car with scoobysport backbox, oh and I'm 38

Nice to see all you fellas getting good quotes from Chris Knott Insurance(CK). I believe it was me that started the recent comments on CK when I got a quote from them a few weeks back and asked on here if anyone had had any problems with them. They have sent me a reminder letter every year for the past few years as I used to insure a Pug 205 GTi with them 4 or 5 years ago so I tried them for my MY99 standard UK turbo. They quoted me £622 fully comp and £200 excess - cheapest by some £60.

Looks like we're keeping them busy

Cheers
Rich
