Hi all,
after owning various performance cars in the past and insuring them without any real problems, i am shocked to find that the subaru STI (UK MODEL 100% STANDARD) is OVER £2500 to insure!?
I currently own an EP3 civic type R and that costs me just under £1k a year insurance.
I live in the CM18 region, only doing 5000 miles a year, with 3yr NCB and 4 years driving experience.
No accidents, 3 points for using mobile phone a year ago.
Anyone in the same situation? or same age group with cheaper quotes than 2k?! if so please give me some advise! What am i doing wrong

To be fair you'll do well to insure an STi at 22 regardless of experience or NCB. You could try Moley but he couldn't help me until I was 24 as I only passed my test at 21. Defo worth the chat but remember its a group 20 car, and highly nickable by the pikey chavs

At 22 you will find it very hard to get decent quotes as your in the expensive bracket for crashing, a uk wrx with ppp may be cheaper to insure and they are the same/similar power as an STI type UK (2ltr).

Still seems high unless your insurance paid a lot out on the accident. I have 2 non fault claims on my insurance which happened within 4 days in April '07 ![Lol1](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/lol1.gif)

Try him, even just for a comparitive quote.
