How do you get this information?

I rang my current insurer and asked them just this (wish i hadnt bothered)

They said that as i quoted to them I had 6 years NC when taking out my insurance online, that is what I have...

So i said well what would happen if I had 6 years NC and stuffed the car into a tree

They said I would need to proof of NC to claim

I said If i LIED and told you i have ten years NC and have a full claim free year and start again with them the following year (11yr NC) and ask for a certificate of prrof of NC for Ten years and then stuff the car on eledged year 11 I could claim.

She said if you have proof of NC then yes

So I said I have proof, remeber you have me proof at the end of Year 10

She said well you can then claim

WTF goes on....

I think what I should have asked which i didnt want to is, Are you not suppose to get proof of insurance for each Insurer you have been with for that period of NC and collate all this information in the event of a claim??

Im still lost to how you prove the NC you have, I just quote it online but as yet have never required to prove as i havent claimed... I think ive got around 10yrs NC but can not recall who ive been with so i always go safe with 6yrs and so on.. this October being 7yrs NCB.

Any ideas please?

Nearly all only count up to nine years mate. Not all will ask you to send proof but be safe and quote whatever it states on your actual renewal notice, the renewal notice is proof of NCD
