Lots of recommendations on here for specialists in Sporty insurance but who do people use for their run of the mill motors?
The Mrs' Ford Fusion is up in Feb and the renewal quote from Admiral is a bit steep.
We've done the money supermarket thing and been to a few of the others but are there any good independents out there that you chaps use/can recommend?
cheers,
5t.

My Mrs is with Direct Line for a Citreon Picasso @ 240 which i think is not a bad price. However they quoted me £1200 for the scoob, so they must only specialise in basic and family motors. Im paying 480 with kwikfit.
These are the obvious to me:
- Go Compare
- Elephant
- Money supermarket
- Confused
- Also remember the ones that dont use 3rd party web search engines... I think Direct line is one.

Elephant - that's one i missed. Thanks UK300.
You've essentially said exactly what i have done and also got to the problem... many of these companies don't do sports cars but in the same way many sports specialists aren't that great at regular cars either! Will be giving Sky a call in a bit to see what they can do though...
As well as the comparison sites i've tried:
Aviva
MoreThan
Tesco
Direct Line
Shelia's Wheels (most useless lot ever, totally avoid)
She's not actually had a license a long time so experience is proving an issue.

Mate another option albeit i have not yet done this as it doesnt suit me is a Traders policy.
Currently the Mrs's insurance is under 300, mine under 500 = 800 so it doesnt suit me and we both keep our insurance running thus gaining NCB discount.
However if anyone is paying over a grand for both yourself and partner it should be put into consideration. The last quote i got a years ago was £1100 for both me and the Mrs to drive any car fully comp, the downside is the lack on NCB for the mrs, the plus side is jumping in anycar knowing you are covered without the hassle of ringing up each time, however if you get a car and put a car in your name you must tell the insurer.
