Insurance for change of spoiler...
My sister-in-law has a standard spoiler on her Blob WRX and wants to change it for an STI type spoiler.
She has phoned her insurance company (Endsleigh) and they say that they cannot insure her if she changes the spoiler for the STI one because it is a modification to the car. She will have to pay £60.00 to cancel and reinsure with someone else which she is happy to do.
My question is this. Who should she phone instead and how much difference in premium is it likely to be roughly, and it is worth doing?
Thanks.

I use Pace Ward for my Evo, all mods declared.
I really cant imagine she'll have to pay much more at all over a standard car - with a decent insurer.
My previous insurer were ok with my mods, till I told them I have put a carbon bonnet on, and they wanted to double the premium!

this is the difference bewteen insuring with a company who generally only deal with bog standard cars and choosing a specialist insurer who caters for modified cars.
My company would certainly not change any extra what so ever for adding a cosmetic modification like a spoiler.
