Default Having a mare....

Ok basically....when i got my scoob and added it to my insurance, I had a slight issue in that my registration for some reason comes up as a 2002-2003 WRX STI type uk on the system, which it is not - its an 03 WRX (blob btw)

So when I told them that wasnt right, they selected the car maually from their list of impreza's from 2003, the closest one they seemed to have on their list was 'WRX AWD' which we decided to go with.

Its renewal time and iv just done a quote online, and had the same issue with it coming up as an STI again, so iv selected the car manually as an WRX AWD,made in 2003. which bring the price down quite a bit obviously. However, iv noticed that if I change the year to 2004 I get a totally different list of impreza variants, the WRX AWD option isnt there but there is one which says 'WRX (225)' which is would i would kinda expect my car to be...however, mine was made in 2003, and is an 03 plate, not '53' or '04'

The WRX (225) option is a few hundred quid more as well.

I know if i ring them up and query it, they wont understand....i dont wanna change company tho as they give me the best price.

Im confused as to what i should do. Iv been previously insuring it as a 'WRX AWD' after putting them straight that its not an STI. Im concerned that this variant may not be correct either tho, yet the variant which i expected to be doesnt seem to exist before 2004 on their system. EURGH. I hope someone has managed to understand my predicament.

Yours is the 2003 WRX AWD, so you are doing it right.

Don't worry about what happens if you select 2004 cars.... yours isn't one, so it's irrelevent

.... or ring a specialist like Keith Michaels, Greenlight, A Plan or Sky and get it done that way - they'll understand exactly what the car really is.

A-plan wouldnt quote me for some reason, Greenlight said i needed to have owned a high performance car for a min of 1 year first....am yet to try sky. As said tho i doubt im gonna get a good a deal as what im getting with my current insurers.

I was slightly concerned when i insured it last time as said above, however like you said - there wasnt anything 'technically' incorrect with the details i entered that are provided by there system, so thats more there problem than mine - and im guessing if they cant work out that theyre system isnt actually accurate themselves anyway, they probs wouldnt know enough to realise it should they need to lol.
