Admiral Won't Insure Prodrive Upgrade?
#1
I know someone with a MY00 Turbo, who wants to get the Prodrive upgrade done. He's with Admiral and has just renewed (couple of weeks ago). Apparently Admiral are perfectly OK about the ECU and the Back Box, but won't insure any other changes (i.e. intercooler ducting).
Has anyone else got insurance with Admiral, with the same (or similar spec car)? If so, does anyone have a contact name at Admiral who could help out?

I left Admiral a long time ago, they seem to pick and choose what and who they want regardless of whether they've insured someone else with the same stuff.
Just had a ring round for my P1 and the best deal in the world was with Greenlight.

Used to be with admiral - were surprisingly good with allowing mods
(I'm 24).
Unfortunately, they're also the only Insurers that seem to think I should pay £500 quid extra for picking up 3 points!!!
Now with privilige - they let me pick my own excess (1500 til june )

I am the friend who has the problem with the Prodrive upgrade.
Thanks for all the advice, I have dumped Admiral and gone with Greenlight. Even with the PPP Greenlight's quote is £500 less than Admiral so the first year's difference has paid for a Tracker to be fitted!
Thanks again for all the help.

When are insurance companies going to get their act together. It's not as if Subaru are not well established. Why don't they know about the Prodrive up-grade, do they sit there blind folded with ear plugs in a dark corner? It just makes a very quick car a bit quicker thus increasing the risk of crashing a bit if you get it wrong. But you could still get it wrong in the standard model. Why don't they employ someone who know's about cars when selling car insurance instead of dumb idiots who should be selling house insurance! My moan for the bank holiday!
