There was a game played out last year. I think 50k was about the most people found...

Hi,
My friend Rod pays around 7500 to insure his Vauxhall Viva. Other insurance companies won't touch him(would you touch a 450 bhp flying machine??). Last quote he had was around 16 thousand full comp. Now thats just too much!!! Lucky his friend 'Igor' runs an insurance company.

I know you wont belive this, and i have no prove but here goes

i phoned the RAC as my wifes Golf GTi Turbo is insured with them and it was cheap at the time (£440) Fully Comp 27 yrs old FNCB.

I called them today (13th May) for a quote on a Lotus 340R (as i am on the verge of buying one from a local dealer)
I am 29 yrs old have been driving company cars for over 10 yrs (no accidents) and currently drive a 33k company Jaguar.
The qutoe was for a 22k 340r Lotus.

The lady on the phone said ( in theses Kinds of words) The policy will not cover the following : Personal Affects ( i can handle that ) 2: Personal Injury (Umm Not sure )

Then The Price !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On My Life £51,000 Full Comp !!!!!!!!!!!!

Kept calling around and got it for £1,400 fully comp 3k a year
and i need it insured to take it to track day where as soon as it hit the track its uninsured any way !!!!!!!

Christ!!!

I thought I had it bad on my first car (AX GT) when the AA asked me for £3500 when the car was worth £2700 and

G reg Saphire cossie worth £6000, was quoted £7800 but

The WRX I ordered was a snip compared to you guys at £4500.

Currently got a 97 turbo uk with Greenlight for £900

They do have a jolly good laugh at us dont they.

Currently insured at £2,800 on MY01 WRX, 36 year old, no NCB (company cars), no own fault accidents. Speeding fines / ban.

Interestingly - I had a no fault accident where the total claim was £60,000. Got my quote first without declaring it, and then told them when taking out the policy. They said they would have to review the quote, and were not sure if they would take the policy on. I asked them to put that in writing so that I could sue the third party of the accident (again), and they got all funny and in the end proceeded (after a few phone calls) without further incident.

I thought if it was no fault - then it shouldn't be taken into consideration and shouldn't affect you - doesn't look like thats the case!!!

Just renewed my wife's Micra 1.0L for less than 12 months car tax for my Scooby. About the price of 3 fill-ups, so approx 660 miles worth of driving for me.

Micra was fully comp and protected NCB.
