Default sunday car insurance

Hi Guys, Sorry if this has been covered before, I have searched but couldn't find anything relevant...

I have a new job and will be picking up a company car early next week, I am allowed to use the company car for personal mileage so will be keeping the scooby on the drive unused for 90% of the year...

I have called my current insurer (direct line) who I currently pay £450 a month fully comp with 8000 miles, they are unable to lower the price at all. If I changed the mileage it doesn't make a difference in price apart from going up, if I change the policy to 3rd party the policy also goes up... this doesn't make sense to me!!

I have left the car insured with them at the moment but was wondering if there are any insurance companies out there that do limited mileage policy's for 'Sunday cars'

I was hoping to only pay £200 a year seeing as the car wont really be used.

Thanks in advance

I'm assuming £450 a MONTH is a typo.

Insurance isn't calculated just on how often it's used, postcode etc play a big part in it.

The fact that it will just be sat on your drive, possibly puts it at more risk of theft. All it would take is some would be thief, is to knock on your door to ascertain if anyone is home.

No typo. I've got no idea how much other people pay tbh. Mine is a standard turbo 2000 so can't imagine it being too expensive
