I have an intermittent fault with my oil temp gauge. Needle is goin crazy can be when engines hot/cold. After start up. Anytime. Its in a double pod on my a pillar. Gauge says option on it and has silver surround. Is it possible to change individual parts like sensor ? Where would i get one any links appreciated.

 

First off check all wiring for loose connections, broken or abraded wires and corrosion.

Next check that plugs into gauge/sender are tight.

Try a wire from the outside of the sender to earth, see if that helps.

Ensure the earth connection from the gauge is sound.


Then report back.
