Removing The Headliner - 05 STI
Hi All,
After a bit of advice before planning to go down this route, I have done a search on here and have not got the answers I wanted
I am thinking of getting my headliner covered in alcantara mainly to change the colour as I want to darken the interior, already got spare plastic trim bits to get carbon dipped, plasti dipped or maybe even covered in alcantara too.
Question is, does the headliner come out of the car easily ??
I have seen some videos online showing the easy bit, locating the screws and clips etc.. but all seem to miss the removal part, the liner just ends up on the workshop floor
Or is it a case of needing to remove one of the front or rear screens ??
Cheers
Mark.

Even the manual doesn't tell you how, although I imagine it would come out via one or other of the rear door openings..........

If seats are out then yes it can be done I've took one out of a car couple of days ago when removing a roof flap from a spec c just take your time and it's easily done
Oh the doors where allready off aswell but I don't think that made a difference though

Cheers mate
I presume only the front seats need to come out ??
What if they were fully reclined, would that make much difference ??

Success
The video proved a useful watch before starting
But managed to remove quite easily in the end without damaging anything especially the rear four clips which were the worst / most fiddly to remove.
Once all the fixings & clips were removed, reclined both seats, car into fourth gear and it eased out via the front passenger door without any real fuss
