Default Front Seats

Ok.... I've got a Hawkeye STi and I really dont like the seating position as I feel like I'm sitting WAY too high in the car. I have had 4 classics before this and I much prefer the fact you sit lower in the car and the way the seats grip you a bit tighter.

Are there any ways/mounts that I can buy to lower the seats in the car at present??

Also, do Classic seats fit a newage, straight swap?

Cheers,
Grant

They are higher by about 2 inches I think ? I test drove a classic yesterday and the seating is way better as was the MY03 I had. Before I had the PD springs it felt like a forrester. I still don't like the height it has to be said, I like my **** on the floor My old Escort GTi had my ideal seating height, in fact the seats were bl0ody good too.

Didn't someone sell some Spec-d seats recently having bought some sportlines ? I will find the thread.

Ah ha... I'd forgotten that I posted there!! ....memory loss isn't meant to happen at 24?!

Thanks for the link mate, will see if any pics turn up.. I know exactly what you mean about the SUV feel, even with my Tein Springs its just not right. I got out of a 3-Series Cabrio and jumped into the Scoob and couldn't believe the difference.... hence this thread, enough is enough, time to form a plan of action.

I like the look of the RECARO Speed Ambla-Leather Black / Dinamica Red and only £380.00 . Anything bigger and I think you start to rub pillars. No idea if they sit lower than the current ones though ?

Yea, I suppose its the mounts that will be the major factor in dictating what height you sit at... however, if the Recaros come with different mounts then they might well sit lower than the stock seats.

That seems like a really good price for a Leather Recaro Seat too.. Its something like that which I would go for, rather than something more outrageous and race-like which I know some people have fitted. I dont tend to use my car rather than for enjoyment, but I think whatever replaces the stock seats needs to fit in with the rest of the interior and subtle look of the car.

One of my friends has just bought a 2005 DC5 Integra Type-R and he is able to get Bride Lowered Seat Mounts for his stock Recaro interior.. IIRC they are around £300 for the pair and lower it by 3" I think it was, which would be perfect for me, as I think its about 2.5 - 3" too high as it is just now.

I have noticed that the high seating position in a new age is transfered to the classic when peeps fit new age seating in them so it must be in the make up of the seat itself Grant.
The guy that looks after my car has a Hawkeye as well and has asked me If I have come accross anyone else with the same issues which was a yes... but I said as yet I've not come accross anyone that has found a way to drop a standard seat so if you do Grant can you let me know please so I can pass it on.

I need to lower my 06 seats by 2’’ or so
There must be away

Willing to pay well to get my head off the roof
It can’t be that hard for an engineering firm to build new rails
Sure would pay

Can’t we design a rail have it made as a group buy
