You ought to be able to use the clock wiring, but remember that Defi controllers need permanent live, switched live, live from lights and an earth.
Once you have the surround off, you may find that the LED fits from the rear, and can be pushed out. If it need a bezel, Rapid electronics do them in various sizes from 3mm to 10mm, cheap, neat fitting

Hello m8
There should be a white plastic plug on the end of your power cable.
This should plug into your cars main electrical harness.
If you remove your plastic sill panel on the drivers side this should expose a bunch of wires, There should be a spare plug in that bundle that is the mate of the one on your power cable.
Plug in and away you go.
As for your LED it should just push out of its holder. no need for cutting wires.
Hope this helps

Is yours new?
The cable that you say you have with 4 bare wires should have a plug on the end of it.
Think from memory it should be female.
Are the 4 wires the following colour: Red. White, Brown and Black.
If you want ill have a look at mine tomorrow and see which wire goes where.

yeah mine is brand new. picked it up today with 3 new defis and a brand new pod. the wire im talking about is the one that powers the defi control unit. it has a plug for the defi controller on one end obviously, but as i have said, the other end is 4 bare wires. which is how it should be going by the defi instructions. red orange white and black. ive seen a couple of how tos of people putting these wires into the wires from the clock. it even has the wires coded for which is what, when you look under the clock surround.
was just going to make sure that this way is ok, but im confused as to what you are talking about now. lol.
p.s where did you mount your defi control unit?
