is cylinder 3 plug a myth?
just spoke to a technition @ subaru @ botley and asked the question is there any diff temp reading wise from the cylinder 3 plug and the cylinder 2 plug.
and the man from subaru in botley say no, so why is there so many threads saying use cylinder 3 plug?
could it have sumit to do with the fact that on most turbo impreza's they have an oil pressure gauge fitted to the plug over cylinder 2 behind the alternator?
just asking the question as i have not been able to find the info out on the net, trust me to get a non turbo impreza..........lol
each to there own i supose.
anyone else got anything to add to this to feed me with more info?
many thanks RCT

if i remember correctly, the plug at no.3 cylinder is an 8mm. be sure you give it a fooking big, fookin heavy thumping great whack into the the plug with the biggest mallet you can find. when i took mine out for my defi, i didnt at first and it started to round-off. then i gave it a big smack in there and it came out no problems.
if you do round it off, you are up **** creek without a paddle

all ok now i found the plug on the 3rd cylinder, had to take the air box off and then sumit that bolted onto the back of the inlet manifold that had an electrical connection to it.
once that was all undone had a slight coolant leak from one of the pipes that i removed then it was all go from there on in.
took plug out fitted the new one with some ptfe then wired it all up, put every thing back together and fired the engine up to make sure no leaks......
no leaks sofar...... the only prob i got is the A pillar pod that i got with the gauge is shi.te so will need to get a proper one for a impreza if they do one that dont need trimming.
many thanks to all RCT

im only going on the experiance i had. half an inch too short, the pod looked like it was stuck on with epoxy and as for the 3 inch wood screw to hold it in, .......well,.......my a pillar pod went straight in the bin. after i had taken my frustration out on it first.
