My car has been valeted at a garage, and the inside windows have been cleaned with something that makes them incredibly smeary.

What's the best stuff available to clean it off and make them smear free?

I HAD some Meguiars glass cleaner, but the kids knocked it off the garage shelf and the spray-head broke off, so it got thrown away.........

No-one round here now sells it.

 

Take it back and ask them to clean them properly

 

I use mega quick detailer and a microfibre. Crystal clear

I've got some of that, it's the same as Rain-Ex.

I want something for the INSIDE realy.
That stuff is BL**DY hard to use properly

 

no smear glass cleaner from Tesco (although i'm sure other superstores products are as good) with some kitchen towel works for me

 

I just use the cleaner on the inside and then use them both on the outside.

 

You can use an exterior car polish/wax, it does the same job. I put it on with a damp cloth and take it off after a couple of minutes.

 

white viniger and newpaper mate forget all the creams n polishes, you will have streak free glass

 

Does it have to be newspaper? Won't paper towels do?

I'm always wary of newsprint, in that when I handle it, it leaves black greasy smears on me.

 

i find on glass as well as mirrors that a clean cloth in hot water and finished off with kitchen towels works the best

i use autoglym glass polish (well the mrs does)

 

Good stuff, but fills the car with dust

 

Brown wrapping paper is the best though it does cost you a little more than the local free press

If you have got the Carlack kit use the cleaner not the watery sealant stuff on the inside windows, its the best cleaner I have tried.

 

Tap water and news paper all day everyday. You might not think so, but give it a try inside and out. I maybe a scooby newbie, but this is tried and tested.

 

i just use Mr Muscle household window cleaner, gets rid of any grease & dries smear free.
I use a microfibre to put on with & clean then a fresh microfibre to finish it off with. Been using it for years works really well & i do car polishing/valeting in my spare time

 

Mr muscle window cleaner with paper towel,
then mist the glass with water and use a microfibre cloth until it dries.

Do this inside and out, looks like the windows are missing

 

Mr Muscle looks like getting a try. Assuming my local supermarket stocks the stuff

I'll get some white vinegar too for backup.

 

mr muscle its the green coloured stuff & you only need a small spritz to do a window & clean dry clothes to start with really help too

Well, three sheets actually.

Use one sheet to wipe on, then use the other two folded to dry it off. When the "drying" sheets are damp, swap for fresh dry sheet of kitchen towel.

Good alternative to Mr Muscle is "Wizz" window cleaner (I kid you not - who thinks up these names?) )

 

I found the ink on the paper runs, leaving smears and streaks. I guess it depends on the newspaper you use. (Quality broad-sheet or red-top gutter press?)

To be honest, I never really checked that. Probably a mix of both. Knowing my luck now, the ink will run next time lol

 

Still waiting on a decent day.

Today was so cold that I was getting condensation on the glass off my hands.........which were DRY!

So cleaning, then drying, would have been a nightmare.

 

here we go fella's i get it from pound shop and the microfibre cloths too
