Yes and possibly no.

I put a blob wheel into my wrx and had the blob clock spring but it was busted. I struggled for ages to get it work then someone on here suggested swapping the airbag charge over from my wrx wheel onto the blob and use the wrx clock spring and hey presto it worked perfectly.
In an ideal world you could use the heal spring but have a look if the charges are the same size first, could save you a few quid

So was the blob wheel an sti and what wrx were you putting it into?

I'm hoping there isn't much difference electrically between 06 hawk and 03 blob STi's

May not work? I know a Ver 10 will work on a Ver 9 but not vice versa.
I would try it out & if airbag light comes on then you'l need to get a Ver8 clock spring which are fairly easy to get hold of, especially if its a UK car.

Sorry I put a blob Sti wheel into my bugeye wrx. The airbag charges are exactly the same size so just used my wrx clock spring with a small bit of re-wiring for the horn.

+1
no You don't need clockspring from hawk, it wont even fit-different plastic and holes dont match
i swap it into my03 wrx wheel from hawkeye sti and like is wrote above only horn re-wiring is needed.

Which is already in my car then.

So going on the above info;

It may be a straight swap with no modding or I may need to re-wire the horn and the v10 hawk sti clockspring will not fit into my 2003 blob sti.

UPDATE…

The hawkeye sti steering wheel was a direct swap with no re-wiring to be done, I retained my original blobeye clock-spring and all connectors matched.

I now have a FULL uk 2003 sti blob-eye interior including door cards for sale with the steering wheel..

any takers.???
