Hi Scoobydrivers,
Are you ready for some laps on the most exciting racetrack of the world ???
179 corners, and almost 22Km long !
Come and join us (a few members of the Dutch 555 club), who are preparing for a nice weekend, at the Ring with Easter (23 & 24 April).
Hope to see you there !

I'm in Belgium at the moment (after finaly getting Admiral to pull their fingers out & give me a green card - but that was another thread!)
Do you have any more details of meeting places, or even contacts - I know there is a Belgian Scooby BBS somewhere around here, or even the 555 club?
Is anybody going to be out & about this weekend - I need a guide to tell me when people are going to pull out on me
Danke weel / Merci beaucoup
Steve

Bluesteel says "179 corners"! How do you count that? Even being generous I only make it 45 left & 46 right, and some of those count curves & multiple apexes.
Still, that's enough to make it a bit more interesting than Donington (4 left & 7 right :-)
I'll be there at Easter, red 4-door 96 UK turbo, staying in Nurburg. I'll probly be in the Lindenhof bar in Nurburg (opposite the BMW dealer) in the evenings.

Been there, done it, got the T-shirt!
Went down to the Nurburgring on Sunday, and eventualy found the other Scoobies - after looking round the race circuit, and trying to find one among a few hundred Porches (actually did find a group from the 555 club!).
Thanks to the guys who gave me a guided tour of the circuit - my lines improved after following you, apart from my one 'sideways moment' when some f'in muppet had parked his bike on the edge of the track in the middle of one of the chicanes and I braked by instinct (bad instincts - must remember to get them changed along with the underwear ). I later found my stuffed Scooby-do cowering under the front seats, rather than sitting on the parcel shelf - don't blame it!
My best time was around 12 minutes (I was too busy to take an acurate time )- I'd be interested to find out what sort of time someone who knows the circuit posts (RINGA?)
How's the biker who took a tumble on Sunday doing? hope he's up and about soon, and not put off 'the ring'
I think I could be come addicted to 'the ring' - anybody fancy a major Scooby trip around the August bank holiday?

Hi Steve!
Some times from the Ring:
- Toyota Blitz Supra (street legal, but running over 3 bar, approx. 650 bhp: 7min 21sec
- Nissan Skyline (stock): 7min 59sec
- BMW M3 (stock):8min 20sec
- Porsche 956 (non stock): 6min 11sec (lap record, driven by pro S. Bellof)
Would be interesting to know what the times from other Impreza drivers would be and with what kind of mod's they've been realized.

Thanks for the info Dan - makes me feel a bit slow - then again I was a bit quicker than the bikes (when the track got damp )
Adam - was that your red MY98 that didn't move all Sunday afternoon? - where were you on a bike?

Sorry - When I got to the track on Sunday afternoon - all I heard was that 'someone' had crashed - I didn't hear a name mentioned, and have never met Adam.
I'll just go and crawl back under my rock
Get well soon Adam

Steve,
A German mag got a stock MY99 Scooby round in 8:37 (and an Audi S3 in 8:41).
Lap record for a production car is 7:55 by Caterham SuperlightR 500 (as in 500bhp per ton!). Porsche GT3 did 7:56. The amount of boost the 7:59 Skyline was running has been called into question (quite rightly I think given it's weight and only 276 bhp).
RINGA (Phil Gardner) did low 9's in his 97MY with suspension and ECU mods, and now probably somewhere near 8:30 in his STi V with Leda and PossumLink.
