Default Fuel Gauge Not Working

So the fuel gauge on my classic turbo isn't working, anyone know something I could try and maybe make it work?

I need a new cluster as my miles are all over the show, but generally they work ok. If this doesn't fix it any idea what could be the issue? Thanks

If it's the gauge itself, new cluster is best.

If it's the sender, try removing and cleaning it up.

It could also be the wiring between sender and gauge, the connector there gets wet and corrodes.

The sender is under a panel under the rear seat, o/s. Rear seat is three bolts along the front edge, lift and remove.

Easy enough to get at.

NOT easy to change, but application of wet-or-dry, emery cloth, files etc helps to clean them.

Might be worth removing and cleaning it, otherwise it will just stick again.
