Question

I am fitting HID to my STI8 both dip H1 and main 9005 and I've been offered a kit made by a company called McCulloch has anyone had any dealings with this make?, the reason I'm asking is their price is £316 for both sets from the States, The States seem to have been using HID longer than us just type HID in English ebay you get one page, now do it in States ebay and you get over two hundred and therefore, the price premium seems to be less? or am I doing the wrong thing by considering this option?

It is true that the USA has been very much quicker to take up these products in the aftermarket. What you need to be very wary of is buying Asian copies or even just Asian product. We have tested many lamps and ballast from both Taiwan and Korea. Some will not last you the life of a decent halogen lamp.

You should try to ensure that the lamps and ballast are based on Philips product made in Germany. The sudden rush of cheap kits in the states is primarily Korean lamps and Taiwanese ballast.

Thankyou for the info, on further investigation I found out the whole kit is made in Hong Kong!
