Question

Hi,

I have a UK spec Impreza Turbo 2000. The modifications I have made being for security purposes only. I have a Clifford Virtual Key 2 & Tracker installed in addition to the standard Sigma M30 alarm.

Occasionally when turning on the ignition the "Check Engine" message flashes. This usually goes away by arming and disarming, hence switching the ignition on/off, the Sigma alarm.

I have been back to the Subaru dealer where I purchased the car who are telling me that it is caused by the extra security I have. I fail to see why the "check engine" should flash due to an alarm fault, but I may be wrong. I am currently in the process of removing the Clifford to see if it has any effect.

What causes the "check engine" message to flash???

Help!!!!!! They will have me removing the tracker next.............and that aint gonna happen!

Many Thanks

Do you get a error code that you could check, ie do the joining the black wires & watch for the flashing code, might help you find what the alarms interferring with.
