Hi,
How do I wire the LED turn signal?
The main one is a bulb so that's OK.
Does there need to be a resistor inline?

Most or if not all LED's fitted to these type of lights run from a 12volt supply, if they are not 12volt then there should be resistors supplied.

No, there's no need for an inline resistor.
As for the LED not being legal, its not that visible from a distance (say 100ft) so I don't think its an issue really.
Mine are just wired into the indicators and it passed the MOT fine...
