Default Switched power supply

I'm in the process of fitting Defis and a knocklink. I used the wires behind the hazzard warning switch for the Defis, but don't know what to use to power the knocklink. I was going to use the cig lighter but according to my multimeter thats a permanent supply. Any other suggestions?
Cheers.

Why not jump them both off the same power supply? Neither will take a huge amount of power. If by some remote chance they do take too much then they'll blow the hazard fuse and you can have a rethink at that point.

Cheers lads. Granby your correct. I went and checked it again and it wasn't at 12v. I turned the ignition on and it went to 12v. I then turned it off, it didn't go immediately to zero but it gradually decreased down to zero in about 5 mins. Don't really understand the electrics but it seems that it will be ok.

Question

I need a switched live for a PDA sat nav, somewhere near the steering column would be ideal.

I tried the interior fuse box but I think they're all live, even the fan blower.

2002 WRX Wagon.

TIA.

Simon.

Both the stereo and the hazards have permanent and switched lives, ciggy lighter has a switched live. There must be switched lives in the steering column but it's just so much more difficult to work in this area than to pull the stereo out and work in the console area.
