Halfords Rally headlamp bulbs
I recently bought a Classic Wagon and can confirm what everyone says about how poor Classic headlamps are. 
Uprated to Halfords 'Rally' 100/80w bulbs (£6.99 each). Package says 'For off road use only'.
The bulbs replaced were PIAA 60/55w with a 'blue/silver' film on the glass.
So far so good - beam is much brigher/whiter. Also appears to be wider - but that might just be because I can now actually see the beam on the road!
