Hi lee
I asked the local dealer to uprate my my00 classic and they gave 90/100w but i didn't use them as i changed the units.
Speak to your local dealer see what they say.

People will tell you it isn't and that the plastic bits in the headlamp unit will melt etc. However my dealer put even high rated bulbs in my MY02 more than two years ago and I've had no problems.

The Relay takes the extra current NOT the switch ....... its the relay you should check
Land Rovers are ancient piles of junk and probably don't use relays!!

Suggest you look into the bulbs still draw the standard 60/55w (so as not to worrry about the wiring) yet have bigger light intensity.
Relatively expensive from www.demon-tweeks.com
Transformed night driving in the Westfield. Will be upgrading the Subaru shortly...
I went for PIAA - EXTREME WHITE PLUS 130/120w (part nubmer H291E) because it is emarked (which means that the light pattern makes it road legal, which I thought could be a problem for upgraded bulbs?)

Try a forum search or better still, get Alcazar's attention.
I ran the 100W off-road jobs for a while on my Classic and they were great. They didn't melt a thing on mine but I've heard other reports.
If you you want to be careful, I agree with Pete and check / upgrade your relays.
Subaru headlamps are soo bad. There's no point in driving fast if you can't see where you're going.
