Being honest - I haven't a clue.
IIRC It worked, but I couldn't get the back & "on" lights working - but that maybe due to oxidisation of the connection points.
I'll do some more testing on it tonight, if I get chance.

There used to be a guy on eBay selling these. Haven't seen any for a while but it might be worth checking.
ISTR they're not horribly expensive from Subaru.

Hi,
That would be great, im guessing i should be able to just swap the 'front panel' of the button for the current rear fog light one. As long as the internals arent too bad that would be lovely

Front and rear fog switches on post MY02 cars are physically different.
Front switch "latches", push it once and it stays on forever until you press it again to turn it off. Rear switch is "momentary", press it once, lights come on but the switch pops back out. Next journey you have to press it again.
This is "a good thing" as it stops you leaving your rear fog lights on for the next 3 weeks after 10 minutes of slight mist one early morning. Be even better if the front fog switch was the same. Needing to remember to press the switch every journey might stop the brain dead driving round with the front fogs on.
This latching is a mechanical thing built into the switch itself, a little wire spring that fits in a V shaped groove and physically holds the switch down. The momentary action uses a relay to hold the lights on.
If the wiring is the same then: Using a momentary switch (designed for the rear) wouldn't work on the front, the lights would only be on while the switch was pressed in, you'd need to drive round with your finger on the switch all the time. But using a latching switch (designed for the front) on the rear would probably work OK.
Or you could probably remove the little spring in the latching switch to convert it into a momentary switch.
