Default shielded ecu?

spoke to a subaru dealer today regarding alarm problems. he said that the sigma system is affected by petrol stations and other such stuff and that i would need a shielded ecu. anyone got any experience with anything similar happening?

I have a similar problem with my Clifford alarm - only happens in certain car parks/areas. usually if i get the key fob directly over the alarm sensor (mines on the windscreen) it works. I have heard that if u operate the key fob while holding it under yr chin (!?!) this also works (yr body becomes an aerial for the signal)......

p.s. - tin foil would shield yr ecu
