2003 wrx fog light replacement
as above, i have a 2003 wrx and the front left fog light has blown (again). the dealer said it would take about an hour of labour to fix because he said you would have to remove the front wheel etc just to replace the globe. does anybody know how to do this or are there any guides anyone has prepared to show how this is done? i would rather do it myself than pay a dealer...
much appreciated..

That sounds like tosh. I've had MY02 and MY04 cars and replaced foglights on both without touching the wheel.
For MY02 there are three bolts holding them on, one top, one bottom on the outside edge and one top on the inside (nearest the grille). They're 10mm. I found a 1/4" drive socket with a 6" extension was easiest. You need to push the socket in between the edge of the lens unit and the plastic surround, pretty easy. Undo the three bolts and it just comes off in your hand.
Can't recall what you need to do after that though as I took the foglights off once (first week) binned them and fitted drive lights so I can only really remember what the drive lights were like. Undo a screw, pull the rim off and remove the lens from the backing shell. Pull the wire off the back of the blub, release the two metal spring clips and change the blub.

Complete b@llocks..! If it's a blobeye you can remove the fog lights completely from the front (ie pull out the surround and you're confronted with 3x iirc 10mm bolts). One elec. connector and bob's your uncle..
My recommendation is try a better (more honest) dealer..!
