Default Airbag problem.. PLEASE HELP

Hey guys..
Im fitting an STI 8 wheel to a 2002 STI 7.
Although the multiplugs on the new loom match that of the olds the wires are different colours..

the old wires are yellow/blue trace and yellow/black trace
the new wires are yellow/blue trace and plain blue.

Im assuming the yellow/blue traces should connect to eachother but when joining the multiplugs they are on the wrong side.. and thus the airbag light is illuminated..

Should i swap the connections to fix the problem?

You might find that now the lights on it wont go out even if you get it right by swopping them, although different manufacturer older vauxhalls the ecu for the airbags would keep the light once it detected any fault, ie power and no airbag. have you had the battery connected at all with out any of the air bags connected ?

** edit to add the dealer could reset it
