dumb question re-disconnecting battery
Tried to disconnect negative terminal on my battery tonight, as I took off the connector, heard a bleep and about 10 seconds later factory alarm stared going off. Normally I'd try again in the morning and just disconnect positive as fast as I could, however, my Mrs is currently on nightshift and if the alarm goes off tomorrow morning when she is sleeping, I'm a dead man.
Can anyone help??

Dunno about the factory alarm but other types can be sorted by arming / disarming the alarm and then whipping off the terminal within 10 secs of the disarm - obviously helps if you've loosened the terminal first...
The alarm unit then remembers the state in which it was powered down for when you reconnect it. I guess leaving it longer than 10 secs may bring in any auto-immobilise on the unit and then it my be more difficult to sort.
just my 2p
