my old man has got a set of them pro drive lights on his bug eye,he bought the car with them on,had 2 relays and the lights ar still playing up.
if he puts hi beam on the lights go out.
and sometimes he is only left with park lights which is not good at this time of year.
any ideas ?

When you say he's left with side lights only, is it blowing the main beam fuse?
Where's the relay? Under the bonnet (aftermarket wiring) or under the dash by the fuse box (original fog wiring converted to main beam using prodrive's recommendations)?

so turned car of restarted it turn lighs on ok they came on,this is what they did just before they went both times before.
if they can sort it he is backing the car as he has had a gearbox go and now this every couple of months

Have agood look at the realys. Mine for my HID driving lights rusted solid inside. All mine are now sealed with epoxy
You SHOULD be able to test it yourself if you have a simple tester, such as the ones sold for a couple of quid at carshops.
Terminal 85 should be live when main beam is selected.
Terminal 30 should be permanent live via a fuse.
Terminal 87 should be live when main beam is selected.
Terminal 86 should be connected to a good earth pref battery -ve.
The relay should click whenever main beam is switched on, or off.
I'd also be inclined to trace the wire from terminal 85 back towards the headlights, and check the connection there.

You can't just swap bulbs to get HID. They need ballasts as well and quite a bit of wiring. The 1000FF lights use an H3 bulb as standard, BUT they also come as an HID. Looking at my HID's, and thinking of the halogen ones I HAD, you can't easily change from one to the other.

Are you saying you have the Prodrive Hella 1000FF driving lights?
If so, fitting HID isn't easy.
You'd need the Hella HID versions of the lights, which are DEAR to buy, then you'd have to home-fabricate brackets as the Prodrive ones can't easily be used to fit the HID version lights.

Ah.....you're talking about HEADLIGHTS. Ok, no probs.
Driving lights, however, fit in place of the foglights, or where your foglights WOULD be if you had any, under the covers BENEATH the headlights.
You'll be able to order HID for that car, in fact if you're flush, AFAIK, you could have main AND dip beam!
